Music Video Final

This is the finished edit of the music video. We are really happy with the outcome and thinks it matches conventions of music videos in general as well as following the narrative of the song. We are going to post it on social media and get feedback.

However, after watching this back, we got feedback which was to change some of the shots against the graffiti wall so that it is a close up, I will change this in post production and then we are done.

Flashbacks

I re edited the flash back shots. I felt that although they were clear it was memories, it wasn't crystal clear as people got confused with them as shown in a previous feedback video. So, i changed it to having a shot of Jonah thinking and being upset about the death of his girlfriend. I did this by creating a mask on Final Cut Pro. I then put her in the other door of the double doors as i thought it would be effective to put her next to Jonah to show that although they are her memories of the day she died, they would also be effective as his memories of what a fun person she was. However, she is wearing the same outfit, I was going to re film her in different outfits as his memories of her but I thought it would be more effective to show the day that she died as that is the narrative of the song. I then changed the opacity to lower so that it gives them a ghost like effect as well as a thought not real life. The shot of Jonah works well when he shakes his hand up to the sky as this shows genuine sadness and may make the audience upset.

7th Film Day and Account

I decided to get a camera, a monopod and tripod and film the taxi scenes. I felt that it needed to be more dramatic. I also want to try explore the day in the life of the taxi as well as the girl and i will attempt this and do an export as i want to make it more of a story as I think at the moment its lacking in a narrative. The shots I want are things a cab driver will do when starting off the day for example, opening the door, turning on the ignition, turning on the meter and the taxi light. I then want to capture the wheels moving down the road and the car coming towards the camera so it is from the point of view of the girl. As we aren't filming the girl and taxi on the same day, filming from the view of the taxi may be harder and may have to be manipulated in post production if we want this shot. I got in touch with my papa who is a cab driver. Below is a text displaying our conversation. He was extremely happy to help me out and was very good at following my instruction. I chose to do it today because it was raining which makes it continuous with the shots before.

6th Film Day and Account

I went to Georgia's house and filmed her using the Osmo. We did this against a white wall. I made her do a run through of the whole song and especially the lines we were missing satisfactory footage for. This was very useful as I could use it if i needed to substitute it in place of other that didn't work as well. Along with this, we also filmed extra on her balcony as we though this would make an interesting atmosphere as she is near to the sky which is quite ghostly and represents heaven. However, this shoot became a challenge as she had her hair cut. For this reason, we worked with it and used an extreme close up shot so no difference was noticed.

Music Video

This is our music video update. I have resolved the issue with the box around Georgia. However, as this was my main concern, the clips need to be put in time. Additionally, we added in shots using the OSMO where she is walking through the park which will add to our performance element. However, she messed up a few lines and after filming we realised we had no shots to fill the segments. This means that we are going to have to refilm again and go knowing the lines we need which will require so late on in the process to actually learn the words.
