We wanted to follow conventions of music videos by using theories by using this in our editing techniques as well as when we filmed.
When editing we wanted to keep a slow pace through out to show her day effectively, I did this by making the shots longer. This not only created the slow pace but also led up to the big event of her day (being killed by a car), also known as the new equilibrium. I decided to use the least amount of effects as possible as I wanted the music video to be very mundane. I also decided to bring in the idea of 'selfies' as I think that these are becoming a natural day to day thing for most people and thought it added to our music video as it makes her seem normal which can make the target audience relate to her. I chose to use the black and white effect along with the 'bokeh' to create her memories effectively to show not only a contrast between her day to day life and her memories of her day but also we slowed down each one to show that it is not normality. We tried to match as much of the lip syncing as possible as this is the main idea of the task and a convention of most music videos as state by Andrew Goodwin. We also tried our best to get the most varied shots in the music video by editing back and forth between close ups and wides.
